The Water Watcher's Program

What is Water Watcher?
Water Watchers is a program that encourages parents to commit to having a designated parent supervisor to watch children when they play in or around water.

What is Water Watcher Tag?
A blue Water Watcher tag is worn by the designated parent supervisor in order to help identify who is taking responsibility for the supervision of the children. Water Watchers Tags can be ordered free of charge.send email to waterwatcher Order Tag

How do I become a Water Watcher?
Anyone can become a Water Watcher by simply volunteering to become a designated supervisor when there are children playing around water. If you would like to become an official Water Watcher, you can send us an email, telling us that you are interested.

In order to encourage parents to join our efforts to watch the water, Shoreline Recreation is giving away free swim lessons. Everyone who joins will receive at least one free lesson. Community Water Safety
Stay safe in, on, and around the water. Take Community Water Safety! This exciting fact-filled course can help you stay safe when enjoying water sports. Community Water Safety teaches easy-to-remember safety tips for pools, spas, water parks, lakes, rivers, oceans, and many other popular aquatic environments. Lifeguarding
The lifeguarding course teaches a preventive approach to lifeguarding as well as rescue and lifesaving techniques endorsed by the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course includes certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First-Aid. These courses are taught in conjunction with the lifeguarding course. Community First Aide and CPR
This 8 hour course teaches individuals to respond to sudden illness, injuries and breathing/cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants.
